John Legend and Kanye West's friendship was one of the strongest relationships before. However, because of growing differences with each other, the two seemed to have grown apart too.

Earlier this year, the EGOT winner opened up about how his friendship with the "DONDA" rapper declined - largely attributed to their political differences.

Now, with Kanye West's recent erratic and problematic online behavior, their friendship continues to plummet as the rapper's views of anti-semitism and alleged anti-blackness took over social media.

Legend, being a proactive activist of the Black Lives Matter movement, shades his estranged friend in a new tweet.

"Weird how all these 'free, independent thinkers' always land at the same old anti blackness and anti semitism," Legend tweeted. Currently, the post has racked up over 35,000 retweets and more than 3,000 replies, mostly talking about Kanye's recent tirades.

For context, Kanye West has been stirring the headlines for over a week already after launching a White Lives Matter line of shirts on last Paris Fashion Week. With his controversial statement, celebrities and other personalities have egged Kanye, slamming him on the defamatory language.

He took the conversation and posted a slew of posts on Instagram, which he was booted out of last weekend over anti-semitism tweets. While he tried to stage a Twitter comeback, he was also restricted from posting more tweets as he also posted another anti-semitic tweet, referring to his plan to launch "death con 3" on Jewish people.

But before Legend's tweet, he opened up in The Axe Files podcast about how their friendship had fallen out.

Per Legend, it started when Kanye ran for the Presidency, and he publicly campaigned against him over now-President Joe Biden.

"Yeah, what it got described as was, we stopped being friends because he supported Trump, which was a mischaracterisation of what I said. That was kind of the Rupert Murdoch version of the story - it was all over the New York Post and Fox News. What I was saying was that he was very upset with me that I didn't support him running for President, and that was the real impetus for us having a strain in our friendship," clarified to New Yorker.

Aside from Legend, Kanye has faced a massive firestorm of backlash from other personalities, even from the Black Jewish Entertainment Alliance and the Anti-Defamation League, condemning him for his recent hateful tirades.
