Britney Spears might be one of the world's biggest pop stars as she's adored and loved by many fans globally, but she also suffers from insecurities; was her being placed under a conservatorship changed the way she sees herself?
Taking to her official Instagram account, the "I Wanna Go" songstress opened up about her body image, saying she used to "feel hot" during her wild days, but everything changed when she entered her 13-year conservatorship.
In the past, the 40-year-old pop star said she was "calm, content, and not trying" but right now, she feels like a "hot wild mess."
"It was hot ... but then in the conservatorship, I felt absolutely nothing ... I was sad, had no say in my looks in photoshoots, had to follow guidelines ... no being a sassy pants and no speaking up," she added. (via Billboard)
Elsewhere in her six-part post, Spears noted that her family members contributed to how she perceives her physical image, especially her dad who always told her that she was "fat" so she never really felt beautiful.
There is one thing that she fears the most, which is being scared of what her father would do to her that's why she always looked "uneasy, unattractive, not in my skin."
Why Is Britney Spears Opening Up About Her Insecurities?
The "'Til The World Ends" hitmaker later explained why she's opening up about her body image, saying she knows that she always presents herself as a perfect human being, but the reason behind it is she knows how it feels to be "ugly and scared."
Amid her tragic experience, Spears said an iconic musical resonated with her, the Broadway show "Wicked" in which she noted that everyone made fun of the lead character Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West.
"I felt her... I was genuinely touched by her" because the role went through all of her "flesh" and awakened her heart.
Fortunately for the pop star, she's trying to let go of her insecurities and slowly working on what she feels inside and out including her body language, breathing, posture, and more.
She will also not be silenced anymore as Spears noted that she would speak when it's time to listen. The musician is still a work in progress as she hopes to find her "essence of being beautiful" in the future.
