It's been five years since SZA released her debut album "Ctrl" and it appears that her sophomore record is coming out really soon as explained in a new interview.
As the R&B star walks around the Los Angeles International Airport, she was approached by TMZ to ask her a few questions about her upcoming album.
When asked about when the record is dropping, the "Broken Clocks" hitmaker confirmed that it will come out "any day" now, but she didn't share the official release date.
SZA also revealed a surprising detail from her next project, saying she recorded over a hundred songs over the past five years, but she didn't confirm how many made it to the final cut.
"Total? A hundred, maybe? Like, I don't even know, actually... Five years worth of material," she said. (via Billboard)
As of this writing, SZA has not revealed an official release date, tracklist, or album art for her next album.
SZA New Music Video + More Album Details
The "Drew Barrymore" songstress recently performed at the Austin City Limits festival where she confirmed that the official music video for her song "Shirt" was supposed to come out last week, but she had to cancel due to a slight problem.
"It didn't come out because I looked at the video, and I was stressed at one small thing in the video," she said as thousands of concertgoers cheered.
Fortunately for fans, the issue had been fixed and it's going to be released anytime soon.
Regarding what her next album would sound like, the R&B star spoke to Complex, saying her next project is "all over the place" as she doesn't have a specific vision for it.
The "Love Galore" hitmaker said she had to go to the mode of what feels good to her brain and energy. In addition, her album would contain songs that are "incredibly soft" and some of them will sound "aggressive" and "ballad."
The new album is currently in its final process of production as confirmed by Carter Lang and Cody Jordan Fayne was amazed how SZA improved in her new era, saying she had better songwriting skills and vocals compared to her previous works.
Her previous album, "Ctrl," was a success after its 2017 release and it's considered to be one of the most iconic albums of this generation.
