Glastonbury Festival 2023 is one of the most anticipated festivals, if not the biggest, in the United Kingdom.
The lineup for Glastonbury 2023 has yet to be announced, but based on previous iterations of the show, the festival never fails to deliver because of its super-packed roster of artists.
But with the budding grand anticipation of the lineup reveal, Glastonbury 2023 tickets have become a headache for many festivalgoers because of their high prices.
According to Variety, a ticket to the event in 2020 only cost $299 or £265, on top of the £5 booking fee and a £50 deposit. However, because of the coronavirus pandemic that stumped the live music industry all over the world, festival organizers have adjusted the rates.
Now for the Glastonbury 2023 Festival, the standard ticket already costs almost $380 (£335), excluding the default £5 booking fee and a £50 deposit. Comparing it that there had been an $80 increase throughout the years.
Speaking about the price skyrocket is Glastonbury Festival organizer Emily Eavis.

"We have tried very hard to minimise the increase in price on the ticket but we're facing enormous rises in the costs of running this vast show, while still recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival because of COVID," she pointed out in a Tweet.
The publication also reported that the United Kingdom had seen an influx of inflation, like the United States, with prices shooting up to almost 10% since 2021. But despite the price increase of the Glastonbury 2023 tickets, Eavis affirmed that the £50 deposit fee remains standard and would not see any changes in the foreseeable future.
"In these incredibly challenging times, we want to continue to bring you the best show in the world and provide our charities with funds that are more vital than ever. We are, as always, hugely appreciative of your ongoing support," Eavis furthered.
Meanwhile, the Glastonbury 2023 lineup still remains blank. Rumors and reports have already been emerging saying that Harry Styles, Elton John, and Billy Joel are among the loudest chatter.
Among the most pressed female artists, Taylor Swift was also among the reported ones. Especially with the rollout of her upcoming mega studio tour, Swift is overdue to appear on the Glastonbury stage.
Kate Bush has also been an apparent mention, especially with her resurgence in pop culture and charts for her song "Running Up That Hill" because of "Stranger Things."
