Elvis Presley's death was unavoidable, as his fiancée herself, Ginger Alden, believed the King of Rock and Roll could not be saved anymore.
Presley spent the rest of his life with Alden after asking to be his wife before his death. Although she refused to move in after two months of dating, she knew what the singer went through and why she thought his passing could not be eschewed.
In her memoir, Ginger recalled the time before she found the King of Rock and Roll inside Graceland's bathroom. She said that the fact that people in his life did not say "no" to him contributed to his death.
"I loved Elvis with all my heart and I knew deep down he was a good person. I don't think anyone could have saved him on that particular morning," she said, as quoted by Express UK.
Saying "no" could have saved the "Can't Help Falling in Love" singer, especially when he asked for pills and painkillers to make himself fall asleep.
For what it's worth, Presley consumed a total of three packages of the medications which his stepbrother, Ricky Stanley, got from the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Those were prescribed by Dr. Nichopoulos after visiting his dentist, Lester Hoffman, due to tooth pain.
Final findings revealed that Presley died of a heart attack that was worsened by his addiction to prescription barbiturates. The medications he took the night before his death also contributed to the tragedy.
Elvis Presley's Death Was Unavoidable - But Unexpected
Although no one could have stopped Presley's death, it happened unexpectedly as the singer himself planned for his future before his passing.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, his stepbrother revealed Presley wanted to make serious changes in his life. Stanley disclosed that the singer wanted to fire his longtime manager, Colonel Tom Parker, and his employees and make Stanley work for him again.
At that time, he was working as an assistant jet mechanic at the airport.
Unfortunately, it did not happen, as he died afterward. His fans, unfortunately, were left in the air after his death. Presley had a scheduled August 17 concert in Maine's Cumberland County Civic Center before his passing, and it was the reason why he decided to take the pills and fall asleep to prepare himself ahead of the performance.
