James Franco Interviews Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea for VMA Special [WATCH]

To celebrate the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, VMA performers Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea will sit down with faux entertainment tabloid host Dave Skylark, played by the always weird co-star of The Interview, James Franco, for a segment called "Dave Skylark's Very Special VMA Special," MTV reports. Skylark's producer, Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) will also join in on the fun.

During the trailer for the 30-minute special, the uniformed Skylark asks the Australian rapper Azalea if she knows Austrian actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and questions Minaj about her hit song "Super Bass," which he refers to as "Superb A**." It all makes for some hilarious moments in the vein of Between Two Ferns and Sound Advice.

Jason Derulo also makes an appearance during the promo with Skylark mocking his signature "Jason Deruuuulooo."

The special airs Sunday, August 17 at 9 p.m. on MTV.

Azalea (with seven VMA nods) is set to perform her new single "Black Widow" with Rita Ora, and Minaj will give a live debut of her latest single "Anaconda" at the August 24 awards show. Meanwhile, Derulo is nominated in two categories this year for his song "Talk Dirty."

The 2014 MTV VMAs air live Sunday, August 24 at 9 p.m. ET from the Forum in Inglewood, California.
