Chris Brown Doing Well Since Jail Release, Says Judge During Progress Report Hearing

Chris Brown was released from prison in June after serving 108 days of his 131-day sentence. He had been in custody since mid-March, after he was dismissed from a Malibu facility where he was receiving treatment for anger management, substance abuse, and issues related to bipolar disorder.

He had been jailed for violating his probation by getting into an altercation outside a Washington D.C., hotel last year. He was on probation for attacking his then-girlfriend Rihanna before the 2009 Grammy Awards. The "Diamonds" singer took a restraining order against Brown after he was charged with assault, which led to him receiving five years of probation.

The "Loyal" singer appeared in court in Los Angeles yesterday for a progress report of his life since being released. Judge James Brandlin said Brown had been doing well and following his probation rules, Billboard reports. The judge reduced Brown's drug test requirement from three times to twice a week since he has been in compliance with his probation officer and has been cooperating with his therapist.

Brandlin also denied the probation department's request for Brown's community labor requirement to be bumped from three days a week to four.
