Steve Lacy is facing backlash recently after he destroys a concertgoer's phone during his concert on Monday and it appears that he didn't regret his actions as explained in his statement on social media.
The "Gemini Rights" hitmaker took to his official Instagram account to share his sentiments after his heated reaction during a concert in New Orleans.
He began by saying he's been having fun performing in front of the crowd over the past few weeks and he gave a shoutout to the people who are not throwing disposable cameras at him and just attended his show to "catch a vibe and connect."
The beauty of the connection he has with fans gets interrupted whenever something negative happens and with that, Lacy refuses to apologize to anyone after the incident.
Explaining his side, the musician wrote, "maybe i couldve reacted better? sure. always. i'm a student of life. but i'm a real person with real feelings and real reactions." (via Rolling Stone)
Lacy later shared that he is not a product or a robot, but rather a human that will continue performing on his shows.
"please come with respect for urself and others please thank you love u," he concluded.
It appears that he inspired many celebrities and other artists with his statement as Kali Uchis agreed on the last part of his explanation, saying people who change narratives for clicks are "soulless."
Chlöe Bailey also expressed her support by writing, "love u, my star."

In a viral video of the incident, Lacy stopped performing to address the audience, warning them that they shouldn't throw things on his stage.
He later went to a fan in the front row to ask for their camera. The concertgoer thought he was going to take pictures or videos with it, but he aggressively threw the phone away before walking off stage.
The outlet noted that the song "Bad Habit" is his last song on his show, he later took the stage again to sing "Dark Red" and "C U Girl" for an encore.
