Saviii 3rd, an L.A. rapper, will spend Halloween not handing out candy but instead in court after being arrested for allegedly stealing more than $3,000 worth of equipment during a recording session.
According to TMZ Hip Hop's sources in Burbank, Saviii was recording at Royal Rehearsal Studio on Wednesday night when he allegedly broke in and took a speaker, microphone, Mac hard drive, monitor, and a few other items.
The former Cash Money Records musician and his crew were reportedly held by police in the studio's back parking lot.
In the eyes of the law, Saviii (officially known as Tyrus Washington) presented himself as Johnnie Lee Brown. Despite using a false identity, Saviii was searched by police, who reported finding a substance they believe to be methamphetamine.
In addition to the studio equipment, they supposedly discovered a bottle of codeine cough medication and evidence of identity fraud. The police took Saviii into custody and he is currently being held in the Burbank facility.
A probation violation warrant was discovered under the rapper's true name, and the fake name was only uncovered after fingerprinting him. Saviii's last Instagram story before his arrest displays a bottle of Wockhardt promethazine codeine and many bottles of Faygo soda. Whether or not these are the bottles police claim to have discovered in his vehicle is unknown. Saviii is expected in court on October 31st while the inquiry continues.
Saviii, a rapper from Long Beach, California, made a name for himself on SoundCloud before releasing his debut album with Cash Money. Saviii released "Batter Up" in June, and as of now, the song has over 25,000 listens.
The rapper has also included Dada P on two other singles, "Another Day" and "Really Outside." While Drake has joined Cash Money's Saviii, he may soon be leaving the label. Drizzy suggests that his next album could be his last with the label on the song "Is There More" from his last album Scorpion. I'm done with this as soon as the album comes out, he spits.
Lil Wayne, who just settled with Cash Money and was liberated from the label, has also left. Weezy's attorney wouldn't go into specifics of the settlement, but he did state that the rapper now legally owns all of his possessions, songs, and body.
