Although Rihanna is aware that her fans have been asking for new music for years, the 34-year-old Grammy winner believed it was "crucial" to wait until the proper moment.
A couple people close to the "Diamonds" singer disclosed to Hollywood Life the reasons for her six-year break from music.
According to the insider, Rihanna is well aware that her fans have been anxiously awaiting new music from her for years. Although she is aware that she has a large fan base that adores her music, she has been extremely busy working on numerous other projects over the past several years, which has consumed a large portion of her time.
An insider revealed after Rihanna announced on October 26 that she would be releasing her first song in over six years, "Lift Me Up," on October 28.
In addition to her beauty brand, she has been concentrating on her Savage x Fenty lingerie collection. In addition, she is developing a family with [A$AP] Rocky and focusing much of her energies on being a mother.
The source explained that Rihanna does not want to release music simply because fans demanded it. Because it is something she takes very seriously, it was crucial that it felt natural.

The insider added that it took all of her efforts to create her latest album (ANTI). She acknowledged that she had a difficult time writing the record, and it took her several years to put everything together until she thought it was complete. It was a tough process, but she knew what it took to release music of which she could be proud once more. Rihanna is thrilled to donate her voice to such a significant project, and she cannot wait for her followers to hear it.
The new song will be featured in the next Marvel sequel "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" and is a homage to the late actor Chadwick Boseman.
"This song means so much to Rihanna," revealed a second person close to the performer.
It is a lovely memorial to Chadwick, who impacted the lives of so many people. Rihanna loves the enthusiasm of her followers on this, but she cannot and will not claim full credit
She was grateful to be able to work with such a talented group of people, and they never lost sight of the fact that not only is this for the Black Panther movie, which Chadwick was so proud of during his life, but it is also for his family and friends to remember him by.
There is no doubt that the release in a few days will be a milestone in her career, but she doesn't want people to think that this is Rihanna's song or Rihanna's return. It is dedicated to Chadwick's memory, the source explained fully.
