Ozzy Osbourne's popularity extended all over the globe, but UFO's guitarist and keyboardist Neil Carter is never a fan of him.
Osbourne has been successful in the past decades, earning the title "Godfather of Metal." He also strengthened his empire by collecting accolades under his belt.
But Carter found these milestones questionable.
In a previous interview with Rock Interview Series, UFO's guitarist said Osbourne would have never been successful if it was not because of the musicians around him. He also declared he was never a fan of his voice.
"I like Ozzy himself, and he's a very funny man, extremely funny guy, but watching that band onstage with Tommy Aldridge, Rudy Sarzo and then you've got Don (Airey) sitting up in the tower. It was a great thing to watch," he said, as quoted in an article shared by Loudwire.
With that, he reportedly could not understand people's fascination with the rocker and found it very strange instead. Per Carter, Ozzy has no appeal, but people love him still.
Ozzy Osbourne Became Popular Because of Randy Rhoads
Elsewhere in the interview, Carter insisted that Rhoads and other musicians who worked with Osbourne played a huge role in making him popular. For him, Sharon Osbourne's husband would never be a megastar if he did not collaborate with popular musicians.
Carter noted that the Prince of Darkness also has connections with great songwriters and musicians, including Bob Daisley.
Following his comments, Carter suffered condemnation from Osbourne's fans, who called him out for being jealous. They also accused him of trying to elevate himself through the rocker.
The interview resurfaced after the announcement regarding Osbourne's Ozzfest emerged. After he launched the non-fungible token (NFT) collection, he and Sharon confirmed their arrival at the Metaverse.

The annual hard rock music festival will happen from November 10 to 13 in Decentraland. The Ozzfest will also be brought to the metaverse with 100 acts lineup.
With that, the festival earned the title of "the first metal and rock music festival to enter the metaverse." It will also serve as the first Ozzfest performance in four years.
Osbourne founded Ozzfest along with Sharon and their son, Jack, in 1996. The upcoming event will welcome different bands like Slipknot, Godsmack, Hatebreed, Sepultura, System of a Down, Mudvayne, Pantera, and Static-X.
