Taylor Swift appears to have substantial competition in the UK charts, and it is not herself.
Following a record-breaking arrival last week, earning an Official Chart Double, the Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter has found herself competing with the most famous British band, The Beatles, to retain "Midnights" at the top.
"Anti-Heroes," the album's lead single, is also the Official Singles Charts leader.
Taylor's eighth UK chart crown and multiple records were broken last week as "Midnights" debuted at number one on the Official UK Albums Chart, with more than 200,000 chart sales. The "Never Getting Back Together" singer had a clearly career-high week.
She surpassed Kylie Minogue for second position on the list of female musicians with the most consecutive UK number-one albums, with nine.
The Beatles, with a special new Deluxe re-issue of "Revolver," may be this week's highest re-entry. The band's seventh studio album is famous for its avant-garde, and inventive production approach, and is considered a turning point in their career.
When "Revolver" was released in 1966, it debuted at the top of the charts.
The Beatles had 15 UK number ones, more than Taylor, Kylie, and even Madonna, who each have 12.

Taylor Swift 'Midnights' Update
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's current album, "Midnights," allegedly sold over a million copies in a week, making her the first artist to hold all ten Billboard Hot 100 positions.
The New York Times said that the album sold around 1.5 million copies in the United States during its first week of release. It was the greatest weekly take for an album since Adele's "25" in 2015.
According to the publication, "Midnights" is Taylor's fifth album to sell at least a million copies in a single week.
Billboard reported that the "Shake It Off" singer eclipsed Drake, who previously held the record with nine out of the top 10 singles in a week in September 2021.
The Beatles were also on the list, holding the top five spots on the chart in 1964, and Drake broke the Fab Four's record.
Taylor also tweeted the major milestone on Sunday, saying, "10 out of 10 of the Hot 100??? On my 10th album??? I AM IN SHAMBLES."
Following "Anti-Hero," "Lavender Haze" and "Maroon" come in second and third place, respectively.
According to the Associated Press, "Midnights" originally included 13 tracks but eventually added seven more, making it one of the biggest album debuts in the previous seven years.
She is currently tied with Barbra Streisand for the most number-one albums by a female performer.
