Representatives confirmed to the Associated Press that Takeoff, one-third of the group Migos, was slain in a shooting at a private party early Tuesday morning in Houston.
While tributes have started to pour in, Offset - Takeoff's cousin and once a member of Migos remains silent. Some fans are starting to raise their eyebrows as to why.
Some believe that Offset and Takeoff not being in good terms when this tragedy happend is bound to haunt Offset the most.
Houston police stated that they would not identify the victim of the incident "until his family is notified and his identification is confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensics." According to police, the victim was a Black man in his 20s. The incident took occurred at a bowling alley soon after 2:30 a.m., the AP said.
Takeoff and Quavo, members of the hip-hop group Migos, were reportedly at the scene, as confirmed by a spokesman during a news conference, which was provided by a reporter for Houston's Fox 26. It is unknown if Offset, the group's former third member, was present at the secret event.
Takeoff, whose true name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, is the nephew of Quavo, who was born Quavious Keyate Marshall and is 31 years old. Offset, also known as Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is 30 years old and is Quavo's cousin.
The police department tweeted that officers responded to a gunshot in downtown Houston and discovered a deceased victim.
Later, it was revealed that two additional casualties were "transported to hospitals in private automobiles."

Hip-hop musicians and fans have paid tribute to US rapper Takeoff from the chart-topping group Migos, after he was shot dead at the age of 28.
Rick Ross dubbed him a "young legend" while Ja Rule, Kid Cudi, Khalid, and Dave sent their respects on social media. Migos was one of the most important groups of their time, pioneering a style of rapping characterized by choppy, staccato triplets known as the "Migos flow."
The band, who dissolved earlier this year, earned multiple international successes including "Bad and Boujee," "Versace" and "Walk It Talk It."
The group was called Polo Club when they were formed in 2008 but they finally took the moniker Migos, which they said in 2013 is a reference to the "hub of narcotics" from the province of Georgia they grew up in.
In 2013, Migos achieved mainstream success with their song "Versace," which Drake discovered and remixed.
Offset began to collaborate with other rappers such as Metro Boomin, 21 Savage, Macklemore, and Drake after the success of Migos' third album.
In 2017, Cardi B and Offset, whose true name is Kiari Cephus, began their on-and-off relationship. Cardi B gave birth to their daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus, one year later.
There appears to have been animosity among the rap group Migos during the past year. In June, they canceled their participation at the 2022 Governors Ball.
Offset has announced that his debut solo album will be out in November. Last month, Quavo and Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, released their latest album, "Only Built for Infinity Links."
Hours after Quavo and Takeoff debuted their latest music video "Messy," Takeoff was murdered and died at the age of 28.
