The suspect who shot and killed Takeoff remains at large, but a newly-released video captured someone who is now a person of interest.
Following Takeoff's death on Tuesday, Sgt. Michael Arrington said during the Tuesday press conference that the Houston Police are still looking for the suspect/s behind the shooting incident.
As reported by Rolling Stone, Arrington confirmed that they already found new details. However, he did not disclose any hard leads or the suspect's name.
After Takeoff's death, the Houston Police now urge everyone with information to come forward and give evidence that can help them trace the shooter.
Houston Police Chief Troy Finner told reporters that someone knows who exactly the suspect was.
"Somebody knows exactly who it was and I'm pretty confident that somebody's gonna step up," he said, per ABC News.
Amid the search, a new video shows an armed man standing a few feet away from Takeoff and Quavo emerged.
Takeoff's Killer Identified?
In a video obtained by a news outlet, it can be seen in one frame that a man in black with a black satchel was holding a handgun in his right hip pocket. The clip was taken amid the heated discussion Quavo was involved in.
The rapper was also spotted walking behind the man exactly two seconds before the first gunshot was fired. Although it remains unknown whether the man fired the first gunshot, he eventually raised his weapon and fired it.
The Houston Police Department already saw the clip, and they said that the man is now a person of interest.
His identity is yet to be confirmed.
At least 10 shorts were fired, and he sustained wounds in the head and torso. Takeoff's cause of death has also been determined by the Harris County coroner's office, confirming it to Billboard.
Meanwhile, Us Weekly noted - based on the documents it obtained on Wednesday - that Takeoff's death is considered a homicide.
The Migos member died due to injuries he sustained after a shooting at 810 Billiards and Bowling following a private party.
"A large group of people had gathered at the front door area just outside the building, and it led to an argument where the shooting took place from the disagreement. A lot of people that were there fled the scene and did not stick around to give a statement," Arrington revealed.
