John Legend, who was once close to Kanye West, spoke up about the changes he saw in the rapper amid his controversial antisemitic comments.
Not only he is losing his business deals and fortunes, but West is also pushing away his friends with his erratic behavior which he has been showing long before he continuously dropped antisemitic statements.
One of his former pals, Legend, sat down for an interview on the podcast "On With Kara Swisher" (via Billboard) on Thursday where he said that the rapper definitely changed compared to the time they became friends.
According to the "Conversations in the Dark" hitmaker, West showed no signs of harmful behavior when they met. Amid the backlash the rapper is receiving, Legend said he believes Donda West's death in 2007 has something to do with those changes.
"I didn't see hints of this kind of harmful behavior back then," he said, "I don't want to play armchair psychologist, but he's definitely changed and a lot of us who have known him over the years are really concerned about it."
Although he is concerned about West's well-being, he clarified that they are not friends anymore. He added that more people are worried about him.
Legend also took his time to share his thoughts about Ye's antisemitic comments and hate speech, saying that people should know how insidious antisemitism is.
For Chrissy Teigen's husband, forgiveness is always possible but said he thinks West should be held accountable for his recent behavior.
John Legend, Kanye West's Friendship Over
Before West found himself in hot water, Legend spoke candidly about being friends with him previously and what broke their friendship.
Legend revealed that his ex-pal got upset with him when he refused to support him in his presidential run. Instead, he showed support for Joe Biden.

The singer explained that it was frustrating by the fact that the rapper's run for Presidency became an operation by Donald Trump's campaign. He reportedly saw countless Trump personnel throughout West's campaign as they raised money for him and got petitions signed for him.
Legend's text messages to West were also leaked in which he told the business mogul if he could reconsider teaming up with the former POTUS.
From there, they fell out and no longer treated each other as friends.
