Jessica Simpson did not take well to the comments that pointed out several things in what seemed to be a harmless video for Pottery Barn; "haters" pointed out the change in her voice as well as weight loss.
Jessica Simpson Pottery Barn: Voice, Weight Loss Alarming
The singer starred in a new Pottery Barn Kids clip the previous week to show fans the impressive interior of her daughter's room. Clips of the room were flashed, as Simpson did the voice-over when audiences noticed something amiss: her speech and her weight.
"Is she ok?" An Instagram user commented, which has now earned over 3,000 likes.
"Please tell me I'm not the only one that hears her voice being totally slow...is she ok?!" Another concerned fan wrote.
"Blink twice if you need help, Jess," another wrote, similar to how fans commented on Britney Spears' posts prior to her getting freed from her conservatorship in 2021.
A fan commented, "What's going on here? What's wrong?" That was the common sentiment of the fans after viewing the short Pottery Barn clip.
'Destructive Noise'
Despite the seemingly concerned comments, Simpson became "angry" and "defensive" over the comments of the now-viral Pottery Barn video, reports say.
She took to Instagram to air out her frustrations, as she posted a video clip of herself singing her 2020 song "Party of One" to prove two things: her voice is fine and her body is not her worth.
Simpson captioned the Instagram post: "I needed to be in my studio today because this is where I ground myself and heal."
"As much as I have learned to block out destructive noise...peoples' comments and [judgments] can still hurt deeply with their incessant nagging 'you will never be good enough.'"
She also shared that she has stayed away from alcohol for five years. Furthermore, according to reports, Simpson began her weight loss journey quite some time back, noting that she lost 100 pounds three times.
"I went to a nutritionist, and I needed to get my eating habits right. " feel like my old self before I had children and all the hormones going wild. I feel younger, actually," she shared.
Simpson is no stranger to criticism, as she noted in her 2020 memoir "Open Book," and her health has always been a point of contention. She even went as far as saying that she was "killing" herself with her addiction to alcohol and pills.
Simpson is now 42-year-old and is married to Eric Johnson. She has three children, Maxwell, 10, Ace, 9, and Birdie, 3.
