Stormzy is proof that even celebrities can be starstruck by other celebrities.
On Sunday, the 29-year-old rapper attended the MTV Europe Music awards, where Taylor Swift won four awards.
The "Midnights" hitmaker took home awards for Best Artist, Best Video, and Best Pop. She also took home the award for Best Longform Video for her ten-minute rendition of "All Too Well."
Stormzy admitted to his 3.2 million Instagram Story followers that he was desperate for a backstage selfie with the "I Knew You Were Trouble" hitmaker.
He began a video after his stage performance, enjoying a drink and telling his followers, "Man's trying to get a selfie with Taylor Swift."
The "Hit and Run" rapper further said, "I'm looking for Taylor Swift. Taylor where are you? I want a selfie, Taylor. I'm trying to get a selfie with Taylor Swift. Man's running around."
The rapper shares another clip in which he tells supporters that he's about to meet her. He even tried to contain his joy.
Stormzy then tweeted a photo of him and Taylor smiling at the camera while drinking wine. He then posted a single image with the message, "So thrilled."
Social media couldn't stop gushing about this adorable meeting, with one user writing, "This is so wholesome!"
Another user on Twitter even stated, "[Stormzy] represents all of us," with a crying face emoji.
"NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS," a third individual remarked. Congratulations, @stormzy, on your selfie with @taylorswift13! I'm next!"
Another admirer exclaimed that Stormzy is one of the only artists that "keep it genuine" with musicians he admires.
"He enjoys himself and does not attempt to fit into a single category." He adores Adele (references her frequently), and you can see how excited he was to meet Taylor Swift tonight. This dude is living the dream! "
This isn't the first time the rapper has displayed his fanboy side. Stormzy interrupted Billie Eilish's backstage interview at the BRIT Awards in 2020 to express his admiration for the "Bad Guy" hitmaker.
"You are the f-----g greatest. You're so, she's so f------g... it's dumb," as a shocked Billie could then be heard saying, "What the hell? What the hell?" later on, they became friends, where they talked about failure, rejecting the "role model" label and more in an interview with i-D Magazine.
