Taylor Swift fans take all shapes, sizes, and...species?
Taylor Swift has been breaking record after record with the release of her smash-hit album Midnights. Between this sensational release and the announcement of her upcoming tour, The Eras Tour, fans have been obsessing over all things Swift. People have taken to making fan art, creating TikToks, and making other incredible Taylor Swift based content.
Well, not only people.
On an Instagram account called IAmCalledLucas, Lucas the Dog has proven himself to potentially be the number one Swifite. He has been obsessing over the star for a long time. For years, he has been personally making music videos of Taylor Swift's songs starring himself to show his appreciation and respect for the star. (As per the bio of his Instagram which reads, "Respected by Taylor Swift," she feels the same way!)
With the release of Midnights, however, this tiny champion has officially outdone himself. An impressive selection of the songs from the album have been music-video-ified with immense artistry. In the order they appear on Swift's album, here are some of Lucas the Dog's Swiftian masterpieces.
Lavender Haze
This artistic, purple enhanced music video by Lucas the Dog is an absolute work of art. The stylistic direction is magnificent. We feel truly effected and present in this Lavender Haze.
Maroon
The attention to costumes and camera work is what makes this Maroon music video truly exceptional. The intelligent use of quick cutting images give the viewer the sense of a special moment, captured forever in time.
Anti-Hero
As there are multiple versions that are currently out of the song Anti-Hero, Lucas the Dog, ever the overachiever, has made different videos to call attention to the unique poetry of both. In this first video, he proceeds with his usual artistic care and dedication, taking Swift's original vision and reinterpreting it as his own.
After the iconic release of the first version of the song, an adaptation of Anti-Hero was released featuring the incredible band The Bleachers. Rather than recreating the music video, Lucas the Dog uses his unique talents to transport us to the recording studio for the creation of this brilliant piece.
You're on Your Own, Kid
You're on Your Own, Kid is a beautifully complex song filled with heartbreak, optimism, and self-expression. Lucas the Dog felt such an overwhelming outpouring of creative inspiration from this piece, that he put out two different videos. Each one hones in on a different emotional theme of the complex song.
Bejeweled
We were also lucky enough to get two music videos for Bejeweled. This first one gives the shimmering glamour that ever second of the song evokes. Lucas the Dog's discerning eye allowed him to create this shimmering diamond of a piece.
While Lucas the Dog is a brilliant artistic mind, he also possesses a grade A sense of humor. As the album Midnights came out the week before Halloween, he also gave his adoring fans a Halloween themed video for Bejeweled.
Karma
This adaptation of Karma perfectly captures the energy of an up-beat BuzzFeed list. Lucas the Dog is confident that he has been a good boy, and that is why all of this amazing karma is coming his way.
Mastermind
Ever the artistic genius, Lucas the Dog gave us two interpretations of the final song of the original Midnights album, Mastermind. In this first video, our favorite canine Swiftie gave a very simple interpretation of the song. While his movements are simple, the advanced camera perfectly pinpoints the feeling we all experience when listening to this beautiful song.
And of course, Lucas the Dog needs to stay up to date on all Swift related trends. He joined the bandwagon to make this hilarious Mastermind video.
Lucas the Dog is a visionary. We can't wait to see what he comes out with next. Keep up with all of his excellent works here.
