Taylor Swift fans attempting to get tickets for her "Eras "Tour experienced a deluge of issues, according to Ticketmaster.

The seller ultimately said the whole thing is cancelled, to the dismay of the fans.

Before making this massive decision, Ticketmaster actually blamed bots and fans for the issue. Is it hinting at a sabotage?

Swift, 32, announced on November 1 a 27-date tour spanning 20 U.S. cities from March to August of next year, causing fan frenzy. Tickets went on sale on Tuesday, but due to what Ticketmaster deemed a "historically unparalleled demand" from millions of fans, the site crashed frequently and the process devolved into a disaster, with her admirers incensed at the skyrocketing pricing and spending hours in line.

Now, after Tennessee's attorney general Jonathan Skrmetti announced he was launching an investigation into Ticketmaster, the site has issued a lengthy response blaming bots and fans without invite codes for causing "unprecedented traffic" of 3.5billion users, which is four times the average number of users.

Before the sale began, Ticketmaster noted, fans were required to register with their Verified Fan system, which is designed to "help manage high demand shows by identifying actual persons and weeding out bots."

The artist team decided to add additional dates to Taylor's tour, doubling the amount of dates and tickets available so that more fans could attend the events.

Historically, approximately 40% of invited fans attend and purchase tickets, with the majority purchasing an average of three tickets. In collaboration with the artist's team, about 1.5 million people were asked to purchase tickets for all 52 show dates, including the 47 sold by Ticketmaster.

The two million remaining Verified Fans were placed on a waiting list. Additionally, Ticketmaster said historically, working with Verified Fan invite codes has worked because it was able to to regulate the volume entering the site to purchase tickets.

However, an unprecedented amount of bot attacks and followers without invite codes brought unprecedented traffic to our website, culminating in 3.5 billion total system requests - four times our prior peak. Never before has the sale of a Verified Fan generated so much attention - or unwanted noise. The characteristic predictability and dependability of their Verified Fan platform was thereby compromised.

Much of the desire for Swift's stadium tour originates from the record-breaking release of her new album "Midnights" and the fact that the artist has not toured since 2018′s "Reputation" stadium tour. Due to the pandemic, her Lover Fest tour was canceled. Tickets for the "Eras" tour are priced from $49 and $450, with VIP packages ranging from $199 to $880. Ticket prices on the secondary market range from $800 to $20,000 each.
