Jimmy Chalfant of Kix worried fans after his drum solo during the band's recent show.
On Friday, Kix held a show at the Tally Ho Theater in Leesburg, Virginia. The members did an encore at the end of a show following Chalfant's solo drum performance, but he fainted afterward.
Loudersound reported that people present at the venue called for responders, and the drummer was immediately taken to a medical facility. With the development, the band had to cancel the scheduled show at the same venue on Saturday.
To take fans' worries away, the official Facebook page of Kix shared the latest update regarding Chalfant's status, assuring them he is already in good spirits. It confirmed that the musician suffered an emergency health issue.
However, it remains unknown whether it was a cardiac arrest or not. To determine what happened to him, Chalfant would reportedly undergo a series of tests throughout his hospital stay.
"KIX drummer Jimmy Chalfant is awake, alert, resting comfortably and in good spirits in the hospital after collapsing towards the end of their performance at the Tally-Ho Theater in Leesburg, Virginia on night one of a two nights stint," the band went on.
Kix thanked fans for their love and concern as the bandmate continues to recover in a hospital.
Meanwhile, KIX's touring guitarist Bob Paré also shared a similar statement on his own Facebook page, saying that he posted it to avoid misinformation about Chalfant's condition.
Although his vital signs are now good, he called it a "very dire, scary, and serious situation."
Fans Send Jimmy Chalfant Well Wishes As Videos of Collapse Go Viral
Following the show, videos of the incident have been shared online. Fans also took their time to offer prayers as they hope for his fast recovery.
It was not the first time he faced a health scare, though.
In September 2021, Chalfant reportedly suffered a heart attack at his home. He was rushed to a hospital where he underwent emergency heart surgery to install two stents in his heart.
He received another procedure the next day to insert another stent into the organ.
Kix, at that time, asked for Chalfant's permission to temporarily replace him with Will Hunt who drummed in for the band until he was able to perform again.
