Comedian-musician Sinbad's current health status has been revealed two years after he suffered from a stroke.

For decades, Sinbad brought laughter to his audience by giving them hilarious tirades during his shows. But aside from being a comedian, he also became known for his expertise in playing instruments, including drums and percussion.

In fact, he uses the moniker "Memphis Red" when he collaborates with musicians, and he already used it when he worked with Dawnn Lewis and Journell Henry.

After years of staying out of the spotlight following a stroke, his family revealed that the 66-year-old is now recovering.

On the website they created after he incurred this health issue, Sinbad's family revealed that the comedian-singer beat the odds and has shown significant progress since then. They also shared a photo of him learning to walk again alongside a heartfelt caption.

"Sinbad appreciates all the love and support you have shown him over the last two years. Many of you have asked for updates and if there is anything Sinbad needs or what you can do to help," they said.

Sinbad's loved ones also noted that his "dead limbs" are coming alive again.

Sinbad's Health Journey After Stroke

In 2020, Sinbad's family confirmed that he suffered a stroke. Although he started his recovery journey, no one thought it would be this lengthy.

He reportedly faced an ischemic stroke after a blood clot traveled from his heart to his brain. According to the American Stroke Association, ischemic stroke occurs when an obstruction occurs. It is also the cause of 87 percent of stroke cases.

Although Sinbad had a "very promising" prognosis, he developed another blood clot the next day. It led him to undergo another surgery, but his brain started to swell again and bleeding happened.

From there, his doctors placed him in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator to ensure his recovery.

His family, at that time, said it would take him weeks before he could show signs of basic mobility again.

Fortunately, he survived all of those but is still in need of continuous treatment. With that, they are asking for help to pay for his treatment as his insurance cannot cover the cost of his care.

Celebrities, colleagues, and fans immediately extended their help to Sinbad and his family and assisted them in promoting the donation drive.
