In 1989, Queen released their studio album, "The Miracle," which in itself was a miracle of sorts because while the band was recording it, they were going through some pretty tough times.

Freddie Mercury was diagnosed with HIV in 1987, and was secretly grappling with his illness as he pushed through to make music.

His bandmate Brian May opened up about that time, "Looking back on things, it is quite hard to fathom, really, because Freddie was an eternal optimist.

"And even with all that he was going through - which we knew nothing about at the time - he always came in with so much positivity."

Mercury eventually told his bandmates about the diagnosis, but during the recording sessions in 1988, they were reportedly in the dark.

And so the album became monumental and special not just for the fans, but for May himself, as it had been such a dark place in his life, as well.

May further shares, "Of course, one of my favorite Freddie tracks of all time is The Miracle," May revealed. "I love that song because, on that track, you hear nothing but joy, positivity, lightness, and humor."

'The Miracle' Reissued

According to reports, the remaining members of Queen are gearing up to unveil the reissued version of "The Miracle," 33 years after its release.

The reissued version of the album contains six past unheard of Queen songs.

He was reportedly heard exclaiming, "You know something? If this song would stop right now, this would really be a great breakthrough for me. I mean if I were to drop dead that would be a breakthrough honey," he added.

May explained how this reissue will help keep the band relevant and draw in new fans, "As far as vinyl helping new fans discover Queen, I've never asked myself that question."

He went on to talk about how special the album is and the legacy it left behind, "This sometimes means that when you're facing a lot of shit, it doesn't always make a lot of sense. And so, it helps to just say, 'Yeah, this is the way it's meant to be because this is getting me to the next place that I need to get to.'

"And I guess that's what I feel about 'The Miracle', but it was full of joy as well. I thank God for that."
