Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde ended their two-year romance last week, and while there are claims that their split was amicable, there is another side to the tale.
The director of "Don't Worry, Darling" is said to be "disappointed" after making the difficult decision to take a hiatus.
The former couple, who began dating after meeting on the set of their film, broke their relationship after it became clear that their priorities were not aligned.
According to a People source, the divorce has been painful, especially for the 38-year-old former "House" actress, who wanted to "work through" all of the challenges she and the Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter experienced.
"The break has been difficult for Olivia. They have had some issues, but Olivia thought they were gonna work through it all."
"She is disappointed," they added. But it's just a hard issue."
Sources also revealed that Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde's priorities aren't matched because the former One Direction singer is traveling abroad for his "Love on Tour" tour, while the latter is focusing on her two children with ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis.
When their recent relationship status became public, it was also stated that there is no "bad blood" between them, with another source adding it was the best option for both of them.
They clarified that Harry did not dump Olivia, and that this was the 28-year-old British singer-longest songwriter's relationship, indicating that "obviously they have a strong connection."
According to the insider, it's nearly hard to maintain a relationship when he'll be on every continent next year and Olivia has other commitments.
"This is the best thing for them both," they said to Page Six.
