It's been a long time since Mumford & Sons last released new music and many fans are hoping for them to get back together, especially now that Marcus Mumford is thriving in his solo career. More recently, the singer spoke about the possibility of dropping their next project; when is it coming out?
In a teaser video of his interview on "Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist," coming out this November 27 on NBC, Marcus revealed that he's just waiting for his bandmates to get together and record new material for fans.
"The next thing really is to get in the room with the boys in the band and start playing each other the songs we've written," he said. (via Rolling Stone)
The now-solo singer said he had written "a bunch" of songs that are "ready to go" and all they need is to record it, release it, go on tour, and do the things that they love the most, which is bonding over music.
Mumford & Sons Now a Trio After Winston Marshall's Exit
As of this writing, Marcus didn't share the exact details regarding the country band's next project, but the outlet noted that if ever they would make a comeback, the group will now be a trio instead of a quartet.
In early reports, member Winston Marshall previously announced that he would be departing from the band after getting criticized for praising a book by Andy Ngo titled "Unmasked: Inside Antifa's Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy."
The banjo player said it's a difficult decision to make and it's all because of an "unintentional Twitter storm."
He later clarified that the tweet was misconstructed by most of his fans and noted that he condemns "unequivoclly all political extrimism."
