Darius Rucker will stop by ABC's Good Morning America on September 3 to announce several nominees for the 48th annual CMA Awards, Music Row reports. He is also expected to perform "Homegrown Honey," the first single from his next album, on the show.
After he announces a select few on GMA, he will head over to the Best Buy Theater in Times Square to announce the nominees for the remaining seven categories as well as those for the CMA's broadcast awards.
During the night, Rucker is set to perform at the 10th Anniversary CMA Songwriters Series Show at the Best Buy Theater. The evening, which will be streamed live at CMASongwritersSeries.com, will also feature songwriters Frank Rogers and Rivers Rutherford, and series host Bob DiPiero.
"I know what it feels like to be nominated for a CMA Award, and I was happy to accept the invitation to announce the final nominees and have this opportunity to deliver good news to my friends in the industry," said Rucker in a statement. "Set the alarm guys, this is worth waking up for."
The CMA Awards will be co-hosted for the seventh time by singers Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. The show airs live from Nashville November 5 on ABC. The second round of voting continues through August 22.
