Calvin Harris Produced Unreleased Rita Ora Album? Dj Debuks Fan Theory

Calvin Harris and Rita Ora are old news, but fans can't seem to stop debating whether or not the Dj produced an album for the singer, but decided to trash it after their break up.

The speculations rose following Ora's interview with Louis Theroux, which tackled the subject of music, specifically about an album that was supposed to be released under the helm of Jay-Z's Roc Nation label.

Ora was supposed to release her sophomore album under the label, but instead pulled out from Roc Nation and sued them in 2015, and the label filed a countersuit.

According to reports, Roc Nation and Ora reached a settlement after six months of back and forth.

She then eventually released her sophomore album, a completely different one from what was intended to be released under Roc Nation, in 2018.

But rumors about the unreleased album remained. Given that around the time Ora was recording the intended sophomore album, she was dating the Scottish Dj.

Many speculated that he might have helped the British singer produce the unreleased album, after all, he produced "I Will Never Let You Down" with her.

A Twitter user wrote: "Louis Theroux interviewing Rita Ora and asking about her canceled second roc nation album? This is my own personal Princess Diana newsnight moment."

"a reminder that if Rita's Calvin Harris produced second album ('I Will Never Let You Down' was the first of many tracks) hadn't been torpedoed she would have probably been one of the biggest pop stars in the world for like 2 years, i have never gotten over it," he continued.

However, before the rumor could go out of hand, Harris took to Twitter to clear some things out.

He replied to the tweet, "Entire thing is a myth, there is one unreleased song I worked on and it isn't good."

Called The Shots

Another basis for the speculation comes from an interview Ora once had, wherein she revealed that Harris denied her of performing "I Will Never Let You Down" at the Teen Choice Awards.

"I was supposed to perform, and for anyone that doesn't understand how it works," she explained. "He wrote and produced the song, so [Harris] has to approve anything TV-wise, for anybody that doesn't get it, so he has to approve the rights to [use the song] and he didn't approve the Teen Choice Awards."

Maybe it was because of this instance that fans speculated that Harris might have a song or two on the unreleased album, but decided to pull it.

According to Buzzfeed, Harris, and Ora started dating in May 2013 and broke up in June 2014. It was a messy and public breakup, which Harris had confirmed via Twitter.
