During an appearance on the radio program "The Breakfast Club," Ashanti made a stunning claim that a producer attempted to demand sex in exchange for producing her songs.

The 42-year-old singer stated during an interview with Charlamagne tha God, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee that she was in a weird relationship with one producer, with whom she reportedly collaborated on two singles.

After revealing that he assured her she was his "homie" and that he would not charge her for the two songs they collaborated on, she stated that all changed when the album was released. To her horror, she reported that he asked her to "take a shower together" as a joke.

She explained that she thought he was joking before he clarified that he was "dead serious" and expected her to pay him $40,000 each track if she refuses the offer to shower together.

She continued that she assumed he was joking because they had been working together for around a couple of weeks already. The celebrity said she had to make phone calls to bring the situation under control after she realized he was serious.

In her future documentary, on which she is now working, Ashanti plans to comment further on the terrifying event.

In 2018, during the height of the #MeToo movement, she discussed the sexual harassment, but never mentioned the producer's identity. She stated that once she rejected the producer, who had a "little infatuation" on her, "the track became $45K."

After her family intervened, she stated that he sent her three free albums as an apology. She added that received free mixing and mastering for two of them.

Ashanti received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in April after achieving sixteen top 40 hits on the Hot 100 over the course of two decades.

Her self-titled debut album sold an astounding 503,000 copies in its first week of release. Her 2002 album earned her the Guinness World Record for Fastest Selling Debut Album by a Female Artist.

The singer's remarks come months after Irv Gotti, 52, claimed on the Drink Champs podcast in August that he was intimately connected with her, and that their connection "helped" her career. He stated that he created the song "Happy" after a night spent together, and that he was unhappy to learn that she was dating Nelly while attending a basketball game.

Fat Joe supported the celebrity in an Instagram Live shortly after Gotti made his remarks, despite the fact that Ashanti later provided her own account of events and claimed Gotti "flat-out lied about a lot of things."
