One-half of the musical duo Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott are pulling out from touring due to an unfortunate development of a health condition.

Jacqui Abbott recently announced that she would tap out on three headline shows in the United Kingdom, following strict doctor's orders.

According to NME, the duo had been on the road since Nov. 26, 2022.

The duo played on the first three nights of their UK-wide tour, specifically in Swansea, Blackpool, and Llandudno.

"We're really sorry to say that following doctors medical advice Jacqui will sadly be unable to perform in Bridlington, Glasgow, and Stockton shows this weekend," a statement from Paul Heaton reads.

The Bridlington show already took place yesterday, Dec. 1, while the Glasgow and Stockton are due to happen later tonight, Dec. 2, and tomorrow, Dec. 3, respectively.

The news came after their Blackpool performance.

"We look forward to Jacqui rejoining the tour soon and we will keep you up to date with her progress," Heaton said in a statement. For now, Paul and his band look forward to putting on a great show for you all tonight and at all the shows this weekend!"

Meanwhile, fans who wish not to attend the remaining shows wouldn't have their tickets. Heaton revealed in the same statement that they could redeem refunds for their tickets from their respective point of purchase.

However, as of this writing, Jacqui Abbott's real health condition has not yet been disclosed to the public. Her period of recovery was also not revealed. But based on the announced dates wherein Jacqui would only not be present, it would seem like it is not that severe.

Fans also asked Heaton if he would be performing the same set even though Jacqui won't be present, and Heaton had this to say:

"Yes roughly, where I can. There's not a lot of difference in the sets just had to alter a few keys- it's going to a long old soundcheck!!" he tweeted.

More so, Heaton affirmed fans who decide to keep their tickets for the Glasgow and Stockton gigs would have a show to remember.

"For those who choose to retain their tickets for the next three shows, I promise you that myself & the boys will put on a show to remember. We'll sorely miss Jacqui but our intent is to make those who refund their tickets bitterly regret that decision Thanks for your support," he added.
