A week after allegedly murdering Takeoff, the popular club promoter who was arrested for the crime posted on social media, "I ain't perfect."
Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was arrested and charged with the murder of Takeoff, who, according to police, was a "innocent bystander" when he was shot on November 1 outside a bowling alley in Houston.
The 28-year-old singer was shot in the head and body outside 810 Billiards & Bowling after a "lucrative" dice game escalated into an argument. Clark is believed to have fired the fatal shots, and it has since come to light that a week after the shooting, on November 9, the strip club promoter tweeted, 'I ain't perfect, I'm solid tho."
On November 8, Clark, who ran the strip club The Flame HTX, also tweeted: "It's difficult for me to feel love because I've been hurt so much," On November 3, a day after the shooting, Clark tweeted, "God got me, he's had me."
Takeoff, who released the solo album 'The Last Rocket' in 2018, and Quavo released 'Only Built for Infinity Links' in the weeks preceding his passing. 'It's time to give me my flowers,' Takeoff said on the 'Drink Champs' podcast, referring to his desire for the joint album with Quavo to increase appreciation for his poetic skills. As Clark's arrest was revealed on Friday, Takeoff's voice could be heard on 'Feel The Fiyaaaah' alongside A$AP Rocky on Metro Boomin's album, 'Heroes and Villains,' which was released that day.
Upon hearing of Clark's arrest for the murder of Takeoff, those who knew him were startled because "that's not the type of person he is," with others saying he was "framed, as reported by Daily Beasat.
Clark is currently being held in jail pending a bond hearing following his arrest for the murder of Takeoff on Thursday night.
Takeoff was shot outside a downtown bowling alley on November 1 at approximately 2:30 a.m., when police say a dispute broke out as more than 30 people were leaving a private party. Previously, police stated that another male and a woman sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, and that at least two individuals opened fire.
During a news conference on Friday, Police Sergeant Michael Burrow stated that the gunshot was the result of a dispute over a 'lucrative' game of dice, but that Takeoff was not involved and was a innocent bystander, which make the whole crime even sadder.
