R. Kelly dismissed the claims that he was dropping an album while he was inside his prison cell.

The public offered a mixed reaction after reports about R. Kelly's reported new album, "I Admit It," would be released. The album's title track was previously released on SoundCloud in 2018 and offered a 19-minute version.

It would serve as his new album after his 2016 holiday album, "12 Nights of Christmas."

But that does not seem to be the case at all.

In an audio recording obtained by a news outlet, the disgraced singer said that the recording was part of a plot to make him face the worse in court. According to his attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, the audio was recorded on Friday after they met.

R. Kelly denied the rumors that he planned to release new music and said doing so was not his priority as he has been trying to appeal his latest conviction.

Additionally, he expressed his hopes that his fans would recognize his voice and realize he would never record something amid his legal battle.

The album in question was reportedly a 13-track album. After it was made available on several music platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, the music project was immediately pulled from the sites.

Sony Music Addresses Claims About R. Kelly's New Album

R. Kelly's agency, Sony Music, said it also had nothing to do with the recording and distributing the music.

In a statement to Variety, Sony Music representatives revealed that it was an unofficial release and that it did not release it on streaming platforms. Bonjean also said a similar sentiment and clarified that neither her client nor R. Kelly's team was responsible for it.

Following the blunder, his legal team started investigating the matter to know who released the music. But it has since been noted that Ingrooves uploaded the files. The company is not related to Sony Music, but the distributor is owned by Universal Music Group.

His statement was supported by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, saying R. Kelly did not produce or record any music using equipment in prison.

R. Kelly has not dropped new albums or songs since the "Surviving R. Kelly" documentary premiered on Lifetime. He is currently serving prison time after being found guilty on all counts of kidnapping, racketeering, and sexual exploitation of a child.
