Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez Trial Finally Starting: Here's What Happened Since

Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez's highly-controversial assault trial officially start today, years after the tragic incident took place in California.

While the news speaks negatively against Megan Thee Stallion, with people actually believing that Megan concocted the whole incident.

Speaking to Rolling Stone recently, Megan defended herself once again.

"I thought we had a real connection. I thought he knew me. And I never would've thought he would've shot at me at all," Megan told the publication about Tory Lanez. "I never put my hands on this man. I never did anything to him. There was an argument. People argue every day. Friends argue every day."

What Happened to Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez?

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has come forward earlier this year to fully detail the truth about the 2020 incident she was involved with ex-friend Tory Lanez in California.

Going home after a Kylie Jenner party, the two rappers went home using Lanez's SUV. However, a heated argument turned into a violent altercation leading to the male rapper shooting Megan in the foot.

"I feel shame, a little bit, because even after he shot me, I still was thinking about everybody else in the car. I thought everybody in the car was my friend, [and] the whole time, that's not how they thought of me. That's what really hurts," she said at the time.

The "Traumzine" singer was rushed to the hospital but denied that she was shot by Tory Lanez. It is until months after that he revealed the identity of the rapper.

Later on, Tory was charged with assault with a semi-automatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle - but has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In the past few months, the trial was delayed because of Tory Lanez legal defense having scheduling problems, leading the trial to ne pushed back.

Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion's then-bestfirend, Kelsey Harris was subpoeanad to the court, as she was present during the SUV shooting in 2020.

After Lanez allegedly shot Megan on the foot thrice, Harris went to meet up with Lanez days after. Megan claims that her best friend received money from the Candian rapper.

Since the shooting in 2020, Harris has not given any public statement about the incident.
