On December 10, Cher made an announcement regarding her mother, Georgia Holt, who had died.
This came after suffering a frightening attack of pneumonia a few months back.
However, it was revealed that the "If I Could Turn Back Time" hitmaker made one last request to her mother years before she died away.
Georgia, who lives close to her estate and had been receiving calls and visits from the 76-year-old, had been pleading with her mother to move in with her ever since.
In an effort to get Georgia to leave her home and move in with her, the American singer had been visiting her mother's residence.
When they are separated for five minutes, "Cher doesn't know what to do with herself," a source who talked to Radar Online in 2020 claimed.
The fact that Georgia recently underwent surgery, is unable to move about as she once could, and has obstinately refused to take her medications is what worries Cher the most, according to the source.
In order to watch for her 96-year-old mother and prevent the "Goddess of Pop" from feeling "lonesome," Cher, actual name Cherilyn Sarkisian, wanted Georgia to move in with her.
Georgia, who shared her daughter's professions as a formal actress and singer, had been residing in her own house since then.
She frequented Cher's enormous Moroccan-style estate in Malibu, California, before becoming unwell.

The insider said that the ex-wife of Chaz Bono became accustomed to watching quiz shows, eating with guests who would stop by, and seeing her mother in her favorite chair.
In the months before to Georgia's passing, though, it has stopped happening.
According to the unidentified insider, Georgia began to slow down two years ago.
Unfortunately, the well-known mother reportedly detested large life changes like that and was used to her own schedule, so she didn't want to live with her daughter.
Cher has frequently lauded Georgia Holt and discussed their long-standing friendship. The "Believe" singer's followers have become accustomed to hearing from her on a daily basis about the health of her mother and other life events.
"[My sister and I] learnt about life by listening to her talk about the things she did wrong and the things she did well," the award-winning singer gushed in 2013.
