Lizzo is finally speaking out after receiving criticisms from users online who deemed her music was written for "white people."

Speaking on "The Howard Stern Show," the "Good As Hell" songstress was asked by the host about her true feelings when people say her brand of pop music specifically caters to a certain group of people.

The Emmy Award-winning artist said she found the comments "very hurtful" because she is a black woman herself.

In addition, Lizzo also noted that the issue challenges her identity "and who I am and diminishes that."

Defending herself from critics, the Grammy Award-winning singer added that the songs she makes are funky, soulful, and feel-good music which is all inspired and similar to what Black people released during the 70s and 80s.

"On top of that, my message is literally for everybody and anybody," she added. (via Yahoo!)

The "About Damn Time" hitmaker further explained that she doesn't gatekeep her message to people and believes that people don't get her generally and it is one of the main reasons why she wanted the public to watch the documentary "Love, Lizzo."

"I feel like y'all don't understand me, y'all don't know where I came from and now I don't want to answer no more questions about this s***. I want to show the world who I am," she added.

"Love, Lizzo" is an HBO Max documentary that was released last month. The film revolves around the pop star's humble beginnings to the state of her career now as one of the biggest musicians in the music industry.

It also tackled some of the moments that honed her as the singer she is today.

Lizzo Discusses Her Relationship With Myke Wright

Elsewhere in the interview, Lizzo gave fans a glimpse into her romantic connection with comedian Myke Wright.

The pop star said there are romantic suitors trying to "shoot their shot" at her inbox and she wanted them to stop wasting their time because she's "very much in love" with her beau.

The two first met in 2016 on the set of "Wonderland." The two became friends over the years, but they didn't start dating until 2021. However, the singer admitted there was sexual tension back then.

At the time, Lizzo said she feels "un-loveable" but when the right time came, the two were "very much locked in."
