Stephen "tWitch" Boss, the DJ everyone loved on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show," passed away at 40.

Formally known as Stephen Boss, the lovable DJ was also a dancer who rose to prominence at the show "So You Think You Can Dance."

His wife, Allison Holker Boss, also a dancer, confirmed her passing to CNN earlier today.

"It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us. Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans," Boss said in a statement.

Twitch's cause of death was not yet revealed as of this writing. However, it is expected that further information about Stephen Boss's real cause of death is expected to be identified and will be released to the public in the coming days and weeks.

"To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt," the grieving wife continued. "I am certain there won't be a day that goes by that we won't honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children."

Twitch's death came days after he and her wife celebrated their nine years anniversary.

Award-winning comedienne Loni Love took to social media to share a tribute to her late friend, posting a video of the two of them, with Twitch, still alive and happy.

"A kind soul and a sweet person.. that is how I will remember Twitch... This was his 40th birthday party .. my heart goes out to his family especially Allison and their beautiful kids.. this is devastating... I love you brother and will miss you dearly," she said in a statement.

Earning his nickname since he was a child for how active he is, Twitch was a semifinalist on "The Wade Robson Project," a runner-up on "Star Search" and "So You Think You Can Dance." He even became a judge on the latter in the past years.

Twitch was most notably known as he was a DJ for the "Ellen DeGeneres" show, where he was also a co-executive producer of the show until it bid goodbye to television this year.
