Finally, a piece of news about rapper T.I. that doesn't feature any gossip or that never-ending feud between the emcee and Floyd Mayweather. Unfortunately, this story doesn't end any better for Tip, nor does it involve any new music for fans. Harris has been hit with a lawsuit alleging that he made off with a piece of stage equipment worth more than $50,000 after last year's "America's Most Wanted Tour" with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz.
According to a rental company (unnamed in the original reports by TMZ), the piece missing is a roll drop, or a huge projection screen that rolls down from the top. The lawsuit states that T.I. paid the rental fee for the item-apparently out of he, Wayne and Chainz, they decided he was best suited for handling this-but didn't return it once the tour had concluded. The company is suing for $100,000: part for the value of the equipment and another $50,000 tacked on for lost revenues resulting from the absent screen.
T.I. hasn't responded to the lawsuit yet, but it seems that someone would have some idea where a nearly 40 foot tall project screen would be if he did in fact have it. Another suspicious factor: "America's Most Wanted" played its last gig on September 1 last year in Irvine, CA. Why has the unnamed rental company waited nearly a year to bring a complaint against the rapper? We're sure that warnings must've been sent but we've yet to see them.
Stay tuned for updates.
