Stephen "tWitch" Boss left a suicide note that reportedly detailed his past struggles.
tWitch checked into the Oak Tree Inn - which is a few minutes away from his Los Angeles home - on Monday. The motel staff had to enter his room the next day after he failed to check out at 11 a.m.
However, they found him dead inside his room's bathroom. The Los Angeles Police confirmed to Page Six that someone called for an "ambulance death investigation" at 11:20 a.m. local time.
The LA County coroner's office also confirmed that the dancer died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Responders retrieved the small bag he carried during his visit and found a letter, which happened to be his suicide note.
Law enforcement sources revealed to a news outlet that the "So You Think You Can Dance" alum penned a message that vaguely referenced the issues he had been dealing with. While they did not detail what exactly he was referring to, they clarified that the DJ was not going through financial hardship.
tWitch died by suicide after the dancer set his phone to airplane mode so his family and friends would not be able to contact or find him.
When his wife, Allison Holker Boss, failed to contact him after he left their home, she immediately rushed to an LAPD precinct to report what happened. She also informed them about his unusual behavior and how he left without driving his car.
On the other hand, The Los Angeles Times noted that the discovery of his suicide note led the police to rule his death as suicide.
Stephen "tWitch" Boss' Cause of Death
After the Los Angeles County medical examiner confirmed that he died of a gunshot wound to the head, it also dismissed the possibility that foul play might be involved.
With the confirmation of the details and finalization of the autopsy reports, the police have since closed the case.
tWitch reportedly did not show any signs of distress when he checked into the hotel. His grandfather, who received his heartfelt final words days before his passing, revealed that he saw no signs of trouble in him in the weeks and months leading to his death.
The dancer also took his time to greet him on his birthday on Saturday, days before he died.
He also marked his and his wife's ninth wedding anniversary.
