Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal have been dating for two years, and not much is known about their relationship-except that they seem to be an adorable couple.
However, some of the singer's fans noticed that her most recent song seems to paint a different picture. Looks more like a heartbreaking scene.
The song in question, "Ghost in the Machine," is Bridgers' collab song with SZA, included in the latter's new album, "SOS."
The song alludes to a relationship that turned sour, and an argument that happened in a hotel in New York City.
The lyrics read: "You said all of my friends are on my payroll / You're not wrong, you're an a*shole."
"Screaming at you in the Ludlow / I was yours for free," and "on my own in an airport bar or hotel lobby."
Reports say that the song was written recently, just after SZA and Bridgers connected to collaborate on a song, which only spurred rumors that Bridgers and Mescal have broken up.
This news is especially heartbreaking for fans because just a month ago, there were rumors of the pair getting engaged.

Is It Over?
According to Elite Daily, a celebrity gossip account, Deux Moi, posted an anonymous tip that the pair had called their engagement off.
People have seen Bridgers with Bo Burnham "kissing" and "making out" on several different occasions, and in addition to that, The 1975's Matt Healy posted an Instagram picture of himself kissing the singer.
Many are speculating that Bridgers and Mescal are truly over, and the rumors itself has caused much distress.
"I saw Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal trending on Twitter and was so excited and good god I've never been so shot down in my entire life after clicking their names," a fan wrote, devastated.
"As both a Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal fan I'm not sure how I will recuperate. I might have to rewatch 'Normal People' and listen to 'Punisher' for the 67th time," another added.
Bridgers and Mescal first got the fans' attention when the pair shared a cute interaction on Twitter in 2020.
The singer fangirled about Mescal for his role in "Normal People." They eventually got connected and started flirting through Instagram.
Bridgers described Mescal as a "cute boy," and gushed about their first interaction: "I got a little pitter-patter in my heart when I saw."
