Mariah Carey's career will begin to tank, according to an expert, if she keeps up this one thing-and it has nothing to do with her diva antics.
The Queen of Christmas' most recent gaffe, according to a celebrity stylist, is what started things off when she performed while wearing inappropriate attire.
Image consultant Tavia Sharp claimed that the "We Belong Together" singer is "becoming outdated because she hasn't altered her style" in an interview with The Sun.
Mariah, she said, is trapped in a time warp because of how antiquated she seems, and sadly, this is harming rather than helping her career.
The mom of twins' latest wardrobe mishap in New York demonstrated that she couldn't even move without pulling her garment apart, the expert said.
Another instance Tavia gave was of the "Through the Rain" singer wriggling in her tight, red dress at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was incredibly uncomfortable to see, Tavia said.
Mariah Carey's 1994 smash song, "All I Want For Christmas," cemented her status as the Queen of Christmas and made her a mainstay of the holiday season.
But this year hasn't been any different. The 51-year-old award-winning entertainer showed up at a number of events all throughout New York City dressed to the nines as she rang in the holiday season.
Christian Siriano made a special red tulle dress for Mariah Carey to wear while singing at the Thanksgiving Day Parade. She finished off her ensemble with a tiara and an umbrella that matched.
However, the 51-year-motions old's were stiff in the outfit as the audience gathered to hear her sing, and there was even criticism of her "lazy" lip-syncing.
The "Obsessed" singer recently made an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" while dressed in a plunging black bodysuit and a maxi skirt.
Mariah could be seen perching herself awkwardly while they chatted about the impending holiday season.

Following Mariah's four-song performance on "Merry Christmas to All" while the chains in her dress snappedin the middle of a performance, Tavia commented, "While she handled this current one nicely and continued to sing along, it happened because the dress didn't fit her correctly."
Mariah kept singing while Wilfredo Rosado, one of her stylists, quickly reconnected it.
But while she was also refusedthe title "Princess of Christmas" or "Queen of Christmas," Tavia said Mariah Carey should save her career first by fixing her style.
"But to maintain her profile and presence, Mariah needs to partner with the right fashion designer."
