Former Roc-A-Fella Records rapper Beanie Sigel was recently released from prison but he's not a free man just yet.
According to BET, Beans will serve the remainder of his prison sentence in a Philadelphia halfway house.
On Friday (Aug. 15), his lawyer Fortunato N. Perri confirmed to the network that the "Feel It In The Air" rapper has been transferred to a Philadelphia halfway home, where he'll serve the remainder of his sentence until early December.
"It gives him a chance to be reintegrated back into the community," Perri said. "It's a wonderful program through the [Federal] Bureau of Prisons."
The rapper served just under two years in the facility on two charges, one of tax evasion and one of drug possession. He served his sentences concurrently.
As previously reported, Sigel was initially arrested Aug. 29, 2012, after police pulled over a car he was riding in. Prescription drugs were discovered in the vehicle.
Sigel was sentenced to 23 months for the drug charge, in addition to the two years he was to serve for failing to file federal income tax documents. He was incarcerated for failing to pay more than $728,000 in federal taxes between 1999 and 2005.
Upon receiving news of his release, fans seem to be anxious to hear new music from the rapper.
Prior to his arrest, Sigel released his first independent album This Time. It was his first release since 2007's The Solution which was released on Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam Records.
Back in June, Beans' frequent collaborator, Scarface, told DJ Whoo Kid that Sigel will be rapping with "malicious intent" when he returns to the rap game.
