TikTok just killed several celebrities, including Jon Bon Jovi and Cher.
Viral videos on TikTok continue to dominate the platform; users also engage in the hit "challenges" others created. But recently, a new trend started killing celebrities.
TikTok users have uploaded videos of people reacting to fake celebrity death announcements. People filming the videos tell the fake news to their friends and family members by pretending they are reading the information for them. The results of the videos show how chaotic the trend has become.
Among the celebrities who "died" included Cher, Bon Jovi, Howard Stern, Stevie Nicks, and Bruce Springsteen. Pranksters even add the artists' age to make the "news" more believable.
The celebrities who became part of the trend have not commented on the videos yet. Meanwhile, a surprising twist happened when a user uploaded a video about Michael Jackson's death despite the fact that the King of Pop had already been dead for over a decade.
Cher, Bon Jovi's Latest Updates
In separate news stories, both Cher and Bon Jovi showed everyone that they are still alive and active.
Bon Jovi uploaded a new photo on Dec. 25 to mark Christmas day. Although the crooner did not respond to the Christmas TikTok trend, his brother, Matt Bongiovi, broke his silence and shaded the users who announced fake death stories.
"TikTok trend ... Jon is alive and well. But the reactions ... some kids aren't getting presents," Bongiovi said.
Meanwhile, Cher's photos emerged online as she sparked engagement rumors with her boyfriend, Alexander "AE" Edwards. The photos in question featured the singer showing a pear-shaped ring.
Cher and Edwards made their relationship public official in November. Photos of them holding hands in public also turned people's heads. Previously, Edwards dated model Amber Rose whom he shares a three-year-old son. They ended their relationship in August 2021 as she accused him of cheating on her with 12 different people.
Meanwhile, the singer had a relationship with several celebrities, including Val Kilmer, Tom Cruise, and Rob Camilleri. She also married Sonny Bony and Gregg Allman.
In one of her interviews, Cher revealed the reason why she had been dating younger men.
"Older men just didn't like me all that much," Cher said. "Do you know what I mean? I have had a couple of boyfriends that were hovering around my age, but they just didn't like me for some reason."
