Do you think anyone could outsing Usher's songs other than himself?
Well, G Herbo begs to differ.
In an Instagram post he shared recently, the Chicago rapper was one not to hold back on his thoughts that he's a better singer than the "DJ Got Us Falling In Love Again" hitmaker.
Usher is widely considered the King of R&B because of his powerful but smooth vocals, and hit songs are often at the receiving end of challenges like this in the past.
After belting out the best falsetto that he could muster, Herbo, who seemed to be on a joyride with his friends, turned to them and asked for affirmation.
"That was decent wasn't it, though? That was decent. That boy good!" he asked.
Afterward, G Herbo posted the video on his Instagram stories and captioned it with a rather confident declaration.
"@usher CAN'T F--K WIT ME ON MY WORSE DAY," he said, bluntly saying that Usher could not even be at par with him, even on a bad day.
While many perceived G Herbo's video as a joke, it seemed like Usher did not have it. When The Shade Room posted Herbo's video, Usher got a hold of it and vaguely commented a "Cap" emoji.
Per Urban Dictionary, the word cap simply meant lying. Most often, the said internet slang is used to claim that a thing is not a lie by saying "no cap." But with the context of Usher and G Herbo, Usher apparently meant that Herbo's claim that Usher can't even be on par with him on a bad day is a big fat lie.
In a separate post, The Shade Room reposted Herbo's vid along with Usher's comment, amassing a debate among its followers about whether both posts were written in jest or not.
"Lmfaoooooo usher joking too he not serious that's why he only left a emoji ! Don't come for HIM!" a fan posted.
"Usher was HIGHLY offended y'all know the OG musicians don't play bout they talent," another argued.
"Usher is in mourning over the recent passing of his grandmother. Leave him alone, please," a user suggested.
In the past, Usher has been upfront and confident that he is a league on his own. When fans were clamoring for a VERZUZ battle between him and Chris Brown, Usher says that the only person he would do a VERZUZ with is himself, essentially shutting down the chances of having one.
