The 2023 Grammy Awards is fast approaching, and with the nominees for all the categories already announced, fans can't help but wonder who will win in the Big 4 categories.
In the past few years, the Big 4 has been the most-anticipated category in the annual ceremony that everyone is talking about on social media.
It is widely known that the Big 4, or The General Field, are the four standard awards for musical works which do not restrict nominees by genre or some other criteria.
The nominees for the 2023 Grammy Awards are filled with superstars in the music industry today, like Beyonce, Harry Styles, Adele, Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, and Bad Bunny, but also timeless acts like Bonnie Raitt, ABBA, Mary J. Blige, and Coldplay.
The head-to-head battle of records, songs, albums, and artists is one to watch. But here are our predictions for the 2023 Grammy Awards.
Best New Artist
Considering the magnitude of the acts nominated in the Best New Artist category, two artists stand out - Anitta and Latto.
Latto made her name this year with the release of the banger track "Big Energy," which even got a remix from Mariah Carey. Out of all the acts, she was the only one who had secured a hit on the charts and managed to somehow disrupt the music scene. Anitta, on the other hand, had a breakthrough in a larger and wider demographic audience. Her thrilling "Envolver" even made her the first female recipient of Best Latin Video at the 2022 MTV VMAs; if that doesn't warrant a New Artist Grammy, then we don't know what will.
Who We Think Will Win: Latto
Who We Think Deserves It: Anitta
Song of the Year
This category honors the exemplary songwriters behind the hits that we hear on the radio and stream incessantly on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
"All Too Well (Taylor's Version) (10 Minute Version)" is considered a wildcard by many in this category. Swift's re-recorded and re-worked version of the 2012 song hits harder and longer than its original one, another testament that Swift is a musical and literary genius. On the other hand, Lizzo's feel-good anthem "About Damn Time" is an obvious contender, as its empowering lyrics transcended into a dance craze that had everyone pumping it up on TikTok for months.

Record of the Year
The Record of the Year Category is given not just to the performer of the song but also to the impressive technical team responsible for its production.
Beyonce's new opus "Break My Soul" is a breakthrough in the Dance genre. Powered by her vocals and the outstanding music arrangement by The Dream, the song felt like a nostalgic one but also a modern retelling. Meanwhile, Harry Styles' "As It Was," is equally impressive and gave the former One Direction alum's discography a new dimension with the fusion of synth-pop, new-wave, and electro-rock elements in the song.

Who We Think Deserves It: Beyonce
Album of the Year
The 2023 Grammy Award is very special, as the music community would see the grand rematch of Adele and Beyonce. In 2017, fans of the two fandoms were at a standstill after they went head-to-head in the same category. Adele's "25" and Beyonce's widely-recognized magnum opus "Lemonade" was the biggest fight back then. "25" emerged victorious later on.
Adele's "30" was considered by many publications as the best album of 2021, even though it was released in November last year. Its record-breaking feat solidified Adele's impact in the industry and her sold-out Las Vegas Residency. The album is one of Adele's most heartbreaking ones, as she articulated the sadness of her divorce on twelve special tracks.
Meanwhile, Beyonce's "Renaissance" is a league of its own. Venturing the Dance/House genre is no easy feat. But the impeccable engineering and the song's poignant symbolism in Black culture is evident on the album's sixteen tracks - proving that Queen B's artistry is profound in all facets.

The 2023 Grammy Awards will be held on Feb. 5, 2023, hosted by Trevor Noah at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
