2022 might be Taylor Swift's biggest year in the music industry so far as she broke records, sold millions of copies of her albums, as well as causing, and resolving, the chaos behind the ticket-selling of her upcoming tour; check out the pop star's biggest achievements, awards, and recognitions this year below.
By January, the "Paper Rings" hitmaker was silent and many fans are wondering what she was up to at the time. Little did she know, she was going to collaborate with Ed Sheeran for one of the biggest songs of 2022.
According to Elite Daily, the musician started her career in 2022 with a bang by releasing a remix version of "The Joker And The Queen" with the British singer.
This marked their fourth collaboration together and to give fans major nostalgia vibes, the pair decided to bring back the two child actors, Ava James and Jack Lewis from the "Everything Has Changed" music video.
A few months later, Swift got the big honor of receiving her first collegiate certification, a prestigious honorary doctorate from New York University.
The pop star addressed the crowd at Yankee Stadium, telling them to not fear the mistakes they made because they're inevitable.
"Learn to live alongside cringe. No matter how hard you try to avoid being cringe, you will look back on your life and cringe retrospectively," she added.
Fast-forward to August 28, 2022, when Swifties didn't see an announcement coming. During her speech when she received the Video of the Year for "All Too Well: The Short Film" at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, she told fans an exciting announcement, saying an album titled "Midnights" will be released the following month.
No one could've seen how successful "Midnights" was as it made history, garnering millions of streams within 24 hours of its release.
The songs in the album also occupied all top 10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, making Swift the first artist to do so. She surpassed Drake's record of nine songs from his album "Certified Lover Boy."
To wrap up 2022, Swift announced that she would make her tour comeback next year with "The Eras" tour, which will tackle all of the eras of her discography over the past years.
