The unrest in Ferguson persists.
On Saturday (Aug. 16), a week after the shooting of unarmed teen Michael Brown, celebrities like Nelly, Chris Brown, Bow Wow and Wale joined forces to send a very important message.
According to Rap-Up, the stars took to the field for a good cause and also used the opportunity to protest the shooting of Brown by officer Darren Wilson.
Following the success of last month's kickball game, Brown and Quincy teamed up once again to host a charity flag football game at Jack Kemp Stadium at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
Team Breezy, which included Game, Wale, Tyga, Trey Songz, Bow Wow, and Omarion, defeated Team Quincy 42-21.
At the end of the game, St. Louis native Nelly called for action from the crowd asking everyone to put their hands in the air and say "Don't Shoot."
"If anybody can sympathize with what my city is going through, it's this city of L.A. right now on so many levels," said Nelly, while wearing a #MikeBrown tank top. "So for that respect alone, I'm asking you, I'm begging you, and I'm pleading for you to just raise your hands for a second."
Back in 1992, the city of Los Angeles rioted the acquittal of four LAPD officers on charges for the brutal beating of Rodney King. The beating was caught on videotape.
Watch Nelly and other celebrities stand in solidarity for Michael Brown below.
As previously reported, Nelly has spoken out about his displeasure with the way the protests have been handled in Ferguson saying, "I understand the frustration, but we have to strategize before we overreact."
It has been reported by TMZ that Nelly, T.I., Kevin Hart and NBA player Al Jefferson have pledged $15,000 a year in college tuition to teens chosen by Michael Brown's family.
Brown was scheduled to start college just a few days after his killing.
