Miley Cyrus' highly-anticipated "Miley's New Year's Eve Party" in Miami was a blast! It has become a talking point on social media for a few days already, with her godmother Country music icon Dolly Parton in the mix, among many other guests and celebrities, everyone seemed to have welcomed 2023 with a huge bang!

While inviting Sia to sing "Stars Are Blind" onstage, and pulling out socialite turned recording artist Paris Hilton to join the chorus is a big feat, perhaps the most talked-about moment at the New Year's Eve Party was Miley's performance with Dolly Parton.

The two have always been close ever since Miley was young. Dolly even guest starred in "Hannah Montana," posing as Miley Stewart's godmother, which is a clear nod to their actual relationship in real life.

In the recently concluded, New Year's Eve special, the duo initially performed one of Miley's biggest hits of her career. Singing "Wrecking Ball" from her 2013 album "Bangerz," the iconic song got its country pop ballad rendition from Miley and Dolly. (via People Magazine)

But as soon as the song hit the bridge, Dolly swiftly changed the lyrics from "I Will Always Want You" to "I Will Always Love You," the perfect shift to her 1973 song of the same title.

Contrary to popular belief, Whitney Houston wasn't actually the original singer and songwriter of "I Will Always Love You," it was Dolly Parton.

With the sudden shift in song, the crowd went wild, blown away by how the two songs perfectly blended into one mega song, thanks to Miley's and Dolly's voices.

The crowd was in awe at seeing Dolly performing her hit song live, with Miley supporting the remaining parts of the iconic song, she has taken everyone aback as she delivers her own rendition of the song.

"I hope life, treats you kind, And I hope that you have all, That you ever dreamed of, And I wish you joy, And happiness, But above all of this, I wish you love," the duo sang.

Others have already considered the mashup a "musical moment," thrilled in seeing the two music legends perform.

"Miley starts off with the fragile edge, razor sharp. In comes Dolly, with the softest cotton ball voice. Then for Dolly's song, they switch. Easily best duet of the year," a fan shared.

"Dolly's love of harmonizing has given us some pearls before and she's just still out here giving like the legend she is. So amazing. And cannot say how much I love hearing Miley singing Dolly's song the way Dolly sings it," another noted.
