Rolling Stone has been absorbing all of the netizen's heat this New Year after its controversial 200 Greatest Singers List angered many fans online.

For many people on social media, the artists included in the lists are debatable, not entirely because of their placements, but because one artist, who many believe should be at the top, was seemingly missed out on the 200 artist-long list.

The Rolling Stone 200 Greatest Singers of All Time list has faced a mountain of backlash over the past few days after it seemingly and unapologetically missed out Celine Dion on the list, an artist that everyone on Twitter is in unison that should at least be at the Top 5 of the coveted list.

Several fans of Celine Dion have already nitpicked some of the artists in the list, trolling them online, questioning why they were even included in the list in the first place if Celine Dion wasn't included there.

Among the artist dubbed to be "undeserving" on the list were Ariana Grande, who placed No. 43, and Taylor Swift, who ranked No. 102.

"Why is Ariana Grande on that list amung all that talent, Shes a good singer but how do you have her over Celine? Shes an Icon!" a fan posted on Twitter.

"Taylor is talented and I like her but come on.. she's not known for vocals. No Celine? Please..." someone shared.

After the outrage kept Twitter going in the past few days, another prominent figure in music has spoken up against what is now infamously called "Rolling Stone's Greatest Snub of All Time"

Music genius Diane Warren has shared her thoughts on the issue.

As expected, many fans have rallied behind Warren, who has echoed Twitter's sentiments in the past few days. (via Metro UK)

"That's like @Diane_Warren not making a best songwriters list @RollingStone," a fan pointed out.

Warren and Dion have recently collaborated in the past. She was responsible for writing the now-timeless hit "Because You Loved Me," which was performed by Dion numerous times.

Meanwhile, Rolling Stone clapped back on the detractors of their list, reiterating their stance and expressing firmness on their published ranking.

"Before you start scrolling (and commenting), keep in mind that this is the Greatest Singers list, not the Greatest Voices List. Talent is impressive; genius is transcendent. Sure, many of the people here were born with massive pipes, perfect pitch, and boundless range. Others have rougher, stranger, or more delicate instruments," the publication said.
