Some of the most beloved shows on Broadway will be having their final company call in the first few months of the year 2023.
Several productions will light off their marquees and take their final bows as a new batch of shows will be filling Broadway soon.

Broadway Shows Closing in 2023
Almost Famous at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre
- Closing: Jan. 8, 2023
Even though the Academy Award-winning movie garnered huge acclaim for critics, the Broadway production designed to attract its former audience fell short as its box-office grosses didn't fare that much for it to run a little bit longer.
Into the Woods at the St. James Theatre
- Closing: Jan. 8, 2023
After the Encores! Production did well at the box office, the Lapine and Sondheim musical was transferred to St. James with an all-new cast. However, the show, despite the sold-out shows, is slated only for a short run.
Beetlejuice at the Marquis Theatre
- Closing: Jan. 8, 2023
Fans of the Halloween musical can only do so much. After the fan-led revolution that mounted the musical, the producers thought that the production had to bid goodbye to the afterlife since the cost of running the production was running higher and higher.
The Music Man at the Winter Garden Theatre
- Closing: Jan. 15, 2023
After a brief extension, the show will finally bid after a season stint at the Winter Garden. Lead actor Hugh Jackman's end of contract marked the end of the show together as they could not find any viable replacement for the Award-winning music icon.
A Strange Loop at the Lyceum Theatre

Even the 2022 Tony-winning musical is suffering the blowback of the coronavirus pandemic costs and impact. Just like its story, the production mirrors the still-recovering theatre industry. However, compared to its predecessors who won the same award, it was expected to run quite longer than expected.
The Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theatre

Considered the longest-running musical production on Broadway, the Majestic Theatre will drop its final chandelier as the company of "The Phantom of the Opera will end its 35-year stint. The show was even extended for a few months as ticket prices surged after the announcement of its closing went viral.
