Rascal Flatts' lead guitarist Joe Don Rooney reportedly filed a divorce from his wife Tiffany Fallon, claiming that she cheated on him with her personal trainer-so she brought up his messy history with alcohol and "substance abuse."
The couple, who have been together for almost 17 years, is calling it quits, but not without dragging each other's names through the mud.
According to court documents obtained by reports, the lead guitarist accused his Playboy model wife of having an "adulterous relationship."
iHeart Country noted that Rooney claims his wife's affair has been going on long before he even filed for divorce two years ago in January 2021, and that the affair is still in full swing.
Funnily enough, his wife did not deny the affair, instead, Fallon alluded that she was driven to have an affair because Rooney had "habitual alcoholism and drug abuse.", which heavily affected their marriage.
On top of that, Fallon also called the musician a hypocrite, saying that he too is guilty of adultery in 2020.
According to TMZ, out of all the accusations thrown his way, Rooney denies abusing drugs, but their report also notes that the musician was arrested for driving under the influence back in September 2021, which supports some of Fallon's claims.
Salt in the Wound
The Rascall Flatts lead guitarist took "Life is a Highway" a little too seriously when he went on a joyride and then crashed into a tree in September 2021.
Page Six reported that the 47-year-old pled guilty to driving under the influence, which is a Class A misdemeanor, that came with jail time.
In addition to a possible 11 and a half months' stay in prison, Rooney will have his driver's license revoked and undergo complete training for the crime.
This came after he was found uninjured following the crash near Fieldstone Park in Tennessee around 4 a.m., and was immediately brought to the Williamson County Jail.
Documents from that night say the incident was "a culmination of his ongoing alcohol and drug abuse," reports say.
Rooney's Rascal Flatts bandmate Gary LeVox commented on the arrest in an interview with People magazine when neither Rooney nor Fallon issued any statements regarding the incident.
"I think God gets your attention in different ways," he said. "I just wish him the best and I hope he gets everything that he needs to get well and take care of whatever issues he's got going on. There's power in prayer."
The couple tied the knot in April 2006, and following their divorce will surely include a custody battle over their three children, all of whom are still minors.
