Social media could really be a toxic place for most people because of negative criticisms and cancel culture. Recently, Lizzo spoke out about the topic randomly and many fans agreed with her sentiments.

Taking to her official Twitter account, the musician said it was a random time to say it, but she wanted to let it out because it's in her heart.

"Cancel culture is appropriation. There was real outrage from truly marginalized people and now it's become trendy, misused and misdirected," she continued.

The "Rumors" hitmaker concluded her post by saying she hopes that people could "phase out" of the drama and focus their outrage on "the real problems."

Shortly after sharing her tweet, many fans immediately took to the reply section to agree with her remarks.

"That's a really great take. I hadn't thought to look at it like that. And it's very, very true. The power has gone out of it, and that's a real loss for marginalized peoples," one wrote.

"Highly agreed. Crazy to live in a world where people who are extremely far from perfect themselves can be so unforgiving," another one wrote.

Lizzo has not given fans more context about her recent post.

Lizzo Fires Back at Body Shamers

The tweet above isn't the first time Lizzo shared her personal thoughts about other people this week as she previously took to TikTok to fire back at those who criticize other people's bodies.

The 28-year-old pop star, who donned a bikini and high ponytail while having fun at the beach, shared a video of herself, saying the discourse around bodies is "officially tired."

She then noted that there have been several comments from online users that criticize different types of body, like "Why did you lose weight?' 'Oh my gosh, why did you get a BBL? I liked your body before.' 'Oh my gosh, you're so big. You need to lose weight but for your health.'"

Explaining her side, the "Special" songstress said artists shouldn't please other people or fit into beauty standards because their only purpose is to share their craft and art with the world.

In other updates, the pop star would be going on tour this year kicking off at the Oslo Spektrum in Oslo, Norway, on February 17.
