Kanye West got out in public again after "missing" reports about him.
West was spotted in public again with a new mystery woman Sunday afternoon as he drove around Beverly Hills with his Maybach. A news outlet released exclusive photos of the rapper and the woman before they walked into the Waldorf Astoria hotel.
The identity of the woman remains unknown, but it marked the first time the "Jesus Is King" rapper was seen again following multiple reports about him missing.
The buzz started when hip-hop news outlet, Daily Loud, revealed on its Twitter account that West's ex-business manager Thomas St. John declared him missing. He said he could not find the hip-hop artist anywhere to serve him with legal documents. The post reached millions of views on the platform.
St. John had been searching for him to serve him the lawsuit he filed for breaching of contract. He accused the rapper of stopping to pay him a monthly retainer after their aggressive meeting before he went "missing."
"[St. John] needed a guarantee that [West] wouldn't abruptly abandon the commercial relationship, in addition to the financial costs and hazards associated with committing to [West] as client," the lawsuit read. "But Mr. St. John offered to settle for a contract lasting at least 18 months."
Rumors Surrounding Kanye West's Whereabouts
The public assumed West "went into hiding" because of financial woes he has been facing on top of the lawsuit his ex-business manager filed.
Forbes previously removed him from its billionaires' list and changed his net worth from $2 billion to $400 million after Adidas cut ties with him following his antisemitic tweets. His brand, Yeezy Apparel, was also hit with financial woes following the separate tax lien notices it received from the state in July 2021, February 2022, and September 2022 amid its unpaid $600,000 debt.
With his MIA status, internet sleuths served several claims to explain why he possibly went missing.
Newsweek posted one of which, suggesting that Illuminati might be behind the act after West previously criticized the secret society. For instance, the 45-year-old rapper posted since-deleted tweets in which he joked that the secret society "controls" major organizations in the world.
The incident repeatedly happened afterward.
Fans also believed that he was in Ghana to perform at the Black Star Line Festival after DJ Ebenezer Donkoh shared an update on Twitter hinting at his appearance.
Neither of these was proven true.
